Banks

Traders needed to exchange one form of money for another. They used moneychangers. Moneychangers charged for their services. Banks do this today. The moneychangers charged a small amount per trade. Moneychangers' services were used often. That is why bankers became wealthly.

Money

Barter became no longer a form of payment. Merchants wanted money instead of trade for the items they sold. Nobles wanted the items the merchants sold. But, the nobles don't have alot of money. The nobles usually use the Barter system to get their items. The nobles would grow crops and sell them for money in order to get their items and money. To get more cash the nobles would borrow money from the banks offering their land. The nobles acually thought they wouldn't have to pay the banks back. The banks were owned and operated mostly by peasants. It was a real shocker to the nobles when the king demanded them to pay back their owed money or they would take their land. Many of the nobles lost their lands. The king was satisfied with the new system. He could easily tax the nobles, moneychangers, craftmen, and traders.
